Message from the President - October 2021
On September 11th, the mayor, along with other members of the council, town staff, fire and police departments, as well as many residents, commemorated the 20th anniversary of 9/11. It was heartfelt and beautiful. If you have not done so, please visit the memorial plaque which sits at the flagpole. Photographs are available on our Sunshine Ranches Facebook page.
The SRHOA supports the Davie Police Department in their recent donation efforts for Haiti. The department continues to encourage us to do the following:
Don’t leave anything in plain sight; don’t leave recently purchased gifts in plain view.
Never leave your purse unattended in your vehicle, even while you are pumping gas.
Park in a well-lit area at night.
Store packages out of sight in your locked trunk. If you want to continue shopping after stashing packages, move the car to another location.
Do not leave packages or valuables on the seat of your car. This creates a temptation for thieves. If you must leave something in the car, lock it in the trunk or put it out of sight.
While attending parties, be sure not to leave valuables in your vehicle.
Avoid parking next to vans, trucks with camper shells, or cars with tinted windows.
Our HOA has a healthy treasury. We are thinking of ways to utilize the funds as to benefit the community. For one, we are revamping the entryways. A holiday gathering is in the works for December 12th. It is time for a donation to the Scholarship Fund. Equestrian Park has some minor projects our HOA could support. We hope you like these ideas and welcome your input.
Speaking of funds, we have had some wonderful residents who have contributed to the SRHOA treasury. We would like to recognize the following members for their generosity:
The Moyers Family: Holatee Trail
The Grissen Family: Luray Road
The Taylor Family: Melaleuca Road
If you would like to become more involved in the SRHOA, we have committees which need volunteers. Feel free to contact the board with your interests.
Do you feel extra traffic or equestrian signage is needed on your street? If so, please reach out to Michelle McBride and Marianne Allen; the ladies are locating sites. This mapping will wrap-up soon, so do not hesitate.
Our town’s charter is up for review. A committee has been appointed by the council. One of our residents, Marianne Allen, is proudly serving on this committee and wishes to have our/your input. For your convenience, please utilize the following URL or QR code to access the charter:
Mayor Breitkreuz’s next “Q & A with Mayor Steve Breitkreuz” will be on October 13th. Please join Steve’s Zoom meeting to enjoy a relaxed and collegial discussion concerning events and needs of the Southwest Ranches community.
Remember, the Council now meets face-to-face at Town Hall on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month.
Please stay connected…join our SRHOA Gmail (sunshinerancheshoa@gmail.com), visit our website (www.sunshineranches.org), or view our posts at www.facebook.com/SunshineRanches.
As always be safe, be happy, and be loved.
